We can advise on a wide range of issues including renting, housing options after relationship breakdowns, tenants’ rights and obligations, harassment, repairs and legal procedures, and can also refer you to some temporary accommodation schemes.
Better Leeds Communities knows times are hard for rising numbers of people in both private and social housing, who may be struggling with high rent costs, low income, reduced benefits.
My Place is here to help people transition from being homeless or vulnerably housed to managing their own tenancy and accommodation, and can be accessed at our Burley Lodge Centre, or in your own home.
Advice and support is one-to-one and face-to-face. Our staff member will attend appointments with you and where appropriate, advocate on your behalf.
My Place supports people to feel safer, build resilience, be independent and able to make positive choices; be more able to manage mental health issues; have improved self-esteem/confidence, physical and mental health, and budgeting/money management skills; have reduced isolation and stress/anxiety; and increased support networks.
